Car is dead, any ideas?
Wife took the car to town last night, when she got in to come home, it wouldn't start.
Doors won't unlock with the remote, interior lights will come on though when trying to open doors remotely.
All other electrical accessories seem to work. Radio, headlights, dash lights, etc.
Starter spins over normally but motor won't start.
Any ideas before I head off to town?
Yes, it'* full of gas and was running perfectly on the way into town and first few stops.
This seems like a great time to try out my brand new actron CP9111 scan tool with harness by "slug". What readings should I look for?

Scantool won't help you.
Remove the boots from the battery cable ends and clean the corrosion you find.
Search techinfo for the ground bus cleaning procedure.
We get a dozen people like you with the same symptoms.

I read the info about the ground bus connectors last week. I did some preventative maintenance and checked them. 0 corrosion. Clean as new. Battery terminals were also clean when checked last week.
I will check again but I doubt that is the problem, any other suggestions before I head off to town?

You say the car is turning over fine but no start? I would make sure you have proper fuel pressure and spark. Have both and still not starting? Then go onto pulling a spark plug and checking its condition. Fouled maybe?
Thats where I would begin to look.

I was thinking along those lines too. How to check?
Wife also just mentioned that the power windows quit also along with the power locks.

You need to use a fuel pressure gauge and test at the fuel rail. For spark, I believe you can ground the plug wire (but dont hold onto it or touch it while cranking) and see if you got spark. You could also purchase the proper tool at an auto parts store.
You can get both (Fuel pressure gauge and spark tester) relatively cheap.
EDIT: For the windows and door lock, check the fuse panel for a blown fuse. That may be the culprit.

After the second mug of coffee I did what wife should have done last night. Phoned BCAA and had the car towed home. No charge.
I started with fuses, took them out one at a time checked and cleaned them. Don't know which one (or more) that was the culprit but when I was finished and brushed up against the seat buttons, the car tried to kill me again.
Everything works now, so it must have been a fuse not making proper contact. I wouldn't think that one fuse would cause all the problems though. Since I didn't think to check things after each fuse, I stil don't know which one it was.
NOW I can take the car for a drive and play with the scan tool.

Check all of the fuses under the Hood as well in the MAXI FUSE relay center... I have seen a few of the 60 ampers cause some issues from time to time..

Ones on the passenger side are a real PITA, you'd think they would be put where they can be checked without being a contortionist.
