Default Brake Light Staying on??

When i was driving home from my girlfriends house on the highway the brake light came on all of a sudden along with the damn buzzer. When i got home i checked everything, the brake fluid was good, ABS worked, E-brake was off no draggin nothing like that. Is there another cause as to why the brake light would come on and stay on. The buzzer goes off after 10mph. I shut the car off twice and same thing still on i'm stumped.. any help out there?

Check the E-brake switch. I just recently had this problem. I just reached up and moved the E-brake switch, and the light went out. Some how the switch moved after I replaced the E-brake cable. All is fine now. Just check the E-brake switch, and I believe this is your problem. The chime is very annoying!!!!

I second both of the above posts. Either can set off the brake light. In my case, it was the fluid level sensor so i just unplugged it.
