Default 92 Bonneville SE, Radio Question ...

I have the stock am/fm cassette radio, I have the controls on the steering wheel. I have noticed that my scan (going up) is not working. It every now and then will work, but seems to have given up on me for the most part. All the other buttons work properly. The other equation to the problem is when I turn the steering wheel my radio will start scanning automatically (scans forward). I'm guessing there is a short somewhere or could there be a relay that would be acting up? Or is maybe the UP button on the wheel somehow stuck? Any suggestions on what to try? Can I repair the UP button on the steering wheel?
