Ok when I coast around a turn and hit my breaks the pedal feels extra firm and kinda wierd. Dont know what that is. Hopefully my wheel bearing isn't so bad that its now rubbing on my breaks. Everything still seems pretty solid in the front end though, even though I have that loud vibration still. Any ideas?

I think we're gonna need a better description.......any brake fade? Vibration? Pulling to one side or the other? Noise?

You know how usually when you hit the breaks your peddal goes down a little. Well when twice now when I went around the same turn, which I am coasting at the time, when I hit the breaks its as if they were pumped up cause there hard, they dont require much force to stop the car at this point, and there a very light grinding feeling at the same time. When the breaks do this there very touchy too. THis so far has only happened twice now though. And only happened around the same corner while coasting then hitting the break. The rest of the time the breaks feel perfectly normal. Other than my bearing vibrating like theres no tomorrow theres nothing else, no new noises or anything. The front end still seems solid. I dont feel any unusual movement in the steering. It doesn't pull to one side, however my alignment is off at times, the reason I say at times is cause one day I could let go of the steering wheel and the car will go slightly right and other days strait as an arrow.

Another question, has there ever been any recorded incidents of cars wheels coming off dute to a failed bearing. I have to go till I get my income tax return before I will be able to replace it next year. Its still pretty solid.

Does that turn happen shortly after you turn your car on?

Nope, happends at my fiances work around this sharp turn. on dry pavement. no the car has been running for 15 minutes when this happens. Note, only felt this around this one very sharp turn, and so far only 2 or 3 times.

Since you only feel the solid pedal while braking in a turn, I would definitely check out the front brake line hoses right away. That'* the only point where something in the brake system changes while the car is turning: the flexible hoses have to move to follow the front wheels as they turn. If one or both are collapsing internally as they flex, they'll block the flow of brake fluid to the front calipers and you'll feel a little kickback resistance in the brake pedal.

I think I'd want to check out those hoses as soon as possible...

You should compare that brake feel against a little test. When the car is parked and the engine has been running (brake feels normal) - shut the car off. Pump the break peddal until it firms up.

Is that the same feeling as you had when turning?

If so, you might have a vac system problem on your power brakes. The good news is that if it is occuring when you are making sharp turns, you may have something that has worked loose - rather than a much larger problem, but that is not for sure. The other thing to check is the fluid (although that would casue a soft feel if the fluid is low and the system is grabbing air- so I doubt that) but it would not hurt to check either.

yes thats exactly what it felt like, when you pump up the brakes whem the engine is off.

The only time I regularly feel that is when the antilocks do their self test at 14 mph and I hit the brake at the same time. The self test happens the first time you hit 14 mph after you start the car.
