Is that a broken half-shaft in the fourth pic?

Hey, you've got oil all over in the same places I do. Do you know where it'* coming from?

I brightened that pic up. It seems there is a large hole in somthing that looks real important. Trannycase?

That is what I see up underneath the right side of the engine. That is the right end of the tranny case that is open to the world...

and for the oil. I know my oilpan is leaking...has been slowly for about 3 years.

I will be the first to admit that I am harder on cars than most. I think I gave it a little gas 1 to many times. I am estimating (realistically) about 260 hp and 300 torque at the output shaft of the engine. Just too much for a stock tranny to handle with a lead foot like mine I guess... :?

It went while pulling away from a highway onramp stoplight.

I ordered another tranny today. I found one that is a rebuild with around 30,000 on it for $750. Also found a guy that will install it for $400 +fluid, +filter. $1150 sounds alot better than $3400+ that I initially heard.

Sorry to hear that (and SEE that) SSEi95.

I saw some guy in a Jeep at a red before. At the green he must have STOMPED the gas so hard. As soon as he did, I saw something from under the Jeep (A huge metal piece, not sure what it was) break off and fall on the street!

I have a friend with a newer model BMW 300 series. He took off too fast at the red (so I heard) and he caused over $1000 in damage, to something. :?

I'm glad you found a tranny. I hope when it'* time for me to get a new one that I can find a good one at a good price.

If it helps, that will happen to all us performance gurus sometime or another.

As for the oil, if its not the oil pan it could be the rear valve cover gasket is leaking. Mine is...I'll get to it someday. :?
