Default New Bonneville Owner and have questions

I just picked up a 1993 Bonneville SSEi with the supercharged 3800 and 169K. Its in mint condition and looks new inside and out. Few questions though, since I am a first time owner. When idling the boost gauge is all the way on minus 10 but goes to like -2 when accelerating and then goes back to 10 when cruising at low rpm. Is this right? Also the car holds a steady running temp at around 220, is this good. Next the power door locks don't work, fuse is good though, so where is the relays so I can check them? Also the automatic climate control, is their a way to switch to which vents you want the air blowing through? Or does it just use whichever ones it wants too, since it does not have buttons to switch and the owners manual dosen't say anything.

Next I was lookign under the hood, does this can have a airbag suspension, because their is a compressor under the hood?

Power sunroof does not work also, motor just makes nosies but won't open the top, is this common and is their a replacement motor I can get?

What is twilight sentinel?

Also I am going to do a tune-up, plugs wires, filters, fluids, etc... What else should I check, also have a new CAT put on because the old one is rusty. Other than that, anyhting else.

I really liek the car and its damn nice, nicest car I have ever had, plus the price was hard to pass up.

wow... lots of questions...

When idling the boost gauge is all the way on minus 10 but goes to like -2 when accelerating and then goes back to 10 when cruising at low rpm. Is this right?
no, you should be seeing 6-7 psi during WOT... it is normal to idle at -10 and hang around 0 during normal driving...

Also the car holds a steady running temp at around 220, is this good
running a little hot for my tastes, try putting an a 180* F thermostat, $5 part

Next the power door locks don't work, fuse is good though, so where is the relays so I can check them?
on any of the doors?

Also the automatic climate control, is their a way to switch to which vents you want the air blowing through?
hitting the MODE button SHOULD change this..if not, we have a problem

Next I was lookign under the hood, does this can have a airbag suspension, because their is a compressor under the hood?
the rear struts have ELC, electronic load control? and they are controlled by the compressor

Power sunroof does not work also, motor just makes nosies but won't open the top, is this common and is their a replacement motor I can get?
i think you are gonna have to drop the headliner to see exactly whats going on, but yes i have heard of that problem before..

Also I am going to do a tune-up, plugs wires, filters, fluids, etc... What else should I check
PCV valve, boost control actuator, boost control solenoid

post some pics, how much u pick it up for?

Thanks for the answers, so obviouslly something is wrong with the boost controller, since its not doing as you said it should. Door locks don't work on any of the doors, if you hit the switch nothing at all. The climate control does not have a mode button on it, so what next? Sunroof I will take apart sometime, but winter is comming so it dosen't need to be done now.

Couple other questions, dome lights do not come on when opening the any of the doors, and I keep getting the tail light, error on the screen but none of them are bad.

I figured the car was worth the $750 I paid for it.

Welcome.

That'* in pretty good shape for 750 bucks. BTW, you have a SSE Supercharged, not a SSEi.

check the little switches that you can see when you open your door that tell you if your door is open.. does the dash show the door is open?

check your license plate bulbs, they will set off the error also...
otherwise take all the bulbs out one by one and make sure they are corrosion free and reinstall them..

No, he wouldn't have the mode button. That was only on 95+.

Ya no mode button, my climate control until looks a little different. The dash shows when each door is open, so I know all the door switches work, but still no lights. Checked all the fuses and they are all good.

I fixed the tail light error, it was a liscense plate bulb.

Been trying to figure out the door locks, I found the fuse was pulled for them and when I reinstalled it the locks still didn't work, but some relay started making funny noises, but I can't locate the one that is making the noise.

And a ploblem I forgot is the oil pressure gauge dosen't work, it always pegs to the right when I turn the ignition on, and I am guessing its a bad sender. And thats probally whats causing the check gauges error.

Congrats on the new ride!!
I was just through Moorhead 2 hrs ago and will be through there again in about 5 hrs.
We'll definitely have to meet up ...possibly over at Sabin for some 1/4 mile fun.
