Unhappy New-b needs help!

I just bought a 92 Bonneville SE and I have an intermittent hesitation issue. Engine power seems to surge- sometimes it is totally fine and other times it has a lot of trouble. RPM'* and oil pressure drop, come back, drop, come back. I don't even know where to start. It could be an oil issue because the pan has a good size dent in it, but I don't know why it would be intermittent if that was it. Don't know if oil pressure is the cause of the problem, or a symptom of another problem. PLEASE HELP!

Oil pressure is going to drop along with the engine RPM, this is pretty much normal.

Let'* start with the basics.
Last time tune up was done?
Oil change done?
Any other mechanical maintenance that you are aware of that was done recently(past year).
Any modifications?

Moved to the 1992-1999 Bonneville section for better visibility.

Is the SES light lit and/or flashing?

Oil change was done as soon as the problem happened. The car sat for a few months before i bought it but fuel stabilizer was in it. I haven't done a tune up yet (just bought it). Only other thing I have done to it is it had two starting issues- both electrical. Neutral safety switch is bad so I just made a bypass circuit with a start button in the door (because im broke and a new switch is $120) and the key pellet contacts werent reading properly so I spliced in a series of resistors to match the key'* ohms to bypass the securit y system. No performance mods.

No check engine lights lit or flashing, but it does work because it comes on when you turn the key on, then goes out when you start it.

Previous owner good ne about the intermittent hesitation issue so i know it wasn't caused by the electrical work I did to it.

So, you have only owned this car for a short period, and it has sat for a few months prior to that? Besides the electrical issues that you seem to have handled in a redneck way(bravo!), I'm going to suggest a tuneup. Sparkplugs, wires. Clean the MAF sensor with MAF sensor safe cleaner. I think that'* about it for now.

Oh, I see Roy already asked but you didn't answer. Check engine light?

I really appreciate the quick responses folks thank you! No check engine light. I know I should do a tune up asap, but can you guys give me any pointers on diagnosing the problem without throwing parts in it to see if that fixes it? As I said I'm broke, and i don't want to spend money on stuff that might be fine.
