Default my ssei is still surging

OK a few days ago i put a thread here about the problem with surging. I had one fellow helping me track down the problem. Ok i have a 96 SSEI with 263.000km. The car starts to surge or bucks the minute it drops into OD, around 1500-1800RPM. I changed the oil, plugs, fuel filter and air filter, and still it surges (bucks) and i don't know why. One fellow told me it could be the torque converter lock-up. is there anything else it could be like bad drives, or bad struts. I'm pulling at string right now cause i have to drive from Newfoundland to Ontario and back for Christmas and with the snow I'm going to have to drive through, I don't want no problems. Can someone PLEASE help.

2KG4U thanks again for helping me as you did the last time with my super charger. i read the link and the symptoms are dead on. this may be a dumb question but why is the TTC switch in the brake pedal. i started to think i had some bad gas cause my nabours 2 cars are doing the same thing as mine.

That way if your foot is on the brake, the trans will not lock up.

so its quite possible that the switch just need to be adjusted

You can test this by pressing the brake down slightly with your foot on the gas. It should drop out of lock up and stop surging. In that case the switch needs to go in a tooth or two. It might take a few tries to get it right.

The only dumb question is the one you don't ask.

This may not fix your issue, but it is an easy starting point to at least eliminate one possibility. Good or bad, let us know what happens.

ok i had to go out and pick-up my son so i done what DANTHURS told me too! ok, so, i was going up a small up-grade in the road and the car started to buck so i stepted lightly on the brake pedal and the trans kicked back (the RPM'* MAYBE went up 250RPM) and the bucking stopped. now i wasn't sure if it came all the way out of OD so on the next up-grade i done the samething and the same thing happened but then i dropped the car down one to drive and the RPM'* dropped another 250 RPM'*. i felt good at this point till it dawned on me. "does this mean that the switch is working, or does it mean it broken"
