Default knock/ tick only at idle

I have a ticking sound only at idle or when the engine is not under load (i.e. going down hill or just taking my foot off of the gas) otherwise there is no sound. Anyone have any ideas? I heard that the 93s sometimes have a problem with bearing knock on the No. 1 main bearing.
I've had 2 mechanics listen to it on seperate occasions and both came up with a bearing. neither of them had experience with Bonnies, so I'm hoping that'* what it is.

The sound seems to be coming from that part of the engine (the SC or the pulley below that)

Is it a grinding/rubbing noise, or a clatter? Clatter near the SC generally means a bad coupler. If it'* a grinding noise, you probably need a rebuilt SC or Nosedrive.

grab the belt WITH ENGINE OFF ( of course ) and try to move it back and fourth..

if it moves, you probably have a bad harmonic balancer.

if it doesn't move, take the belts off and start the car for a little bit and see if you still hear the noise.

if you still hear it, it is internal and bad.

if you don't hear it, grab the supercharger pulley and turn just a little each way and see if it feels loose at all, could be a bad supercharger coupler.

if none of the above, do the same thing to all the other pulleys and see if there is any play or noise when you spin them.

It'* a clattering noise definately not a grinding sound..

Hmm... Well I would say to pull the belt off and quickly move the supercharger'* pulley back and forth, and see if it has any side to side play. Also push it in and out and see if it has play that way. If neither, spin all the pulleys on each belt drive, and see if any are hard to turn/wobble/make noise. If not, you just may have engine damage. What is your oil pressure?

I'll have to pull the belts off on another day. (probably tomorrow) Does it help to mention that the tensioner pulley seems to be constantly adjusting when the engine is running? I'm getting a little worried really What'* the worst case scenario? My oil pressure hovers around 40

can you go outside and check the belts for any play? the way you describe it, it is sounding to me like a harmonic balancer.

grab the belt and try to spin it both ways front to back. You don't have to take the belts off for that test, and only takes a second

I just went through the sam situation with my 95, It was diagnosed wrong as the supercharger bearing, I went out and bought a new one, replaced and started the car back up, sure enough the nooise was still there, check your water pump, thats what my issue was the enitre time, check for loose pullies,

The water pump was replaced not too long ago, though i'm not sure how long they're supposed to last, honestly.
