Default Tranny Problem after tryin cooling fan override

I just tryed the cooling fan override switch mod unsucessfully. I tryed using willwrens picture and it turned out to be a slightly different setup than my own, so my ignorent a** decides to try running a ground wire to different wires on the relays like in his picture to see which one turns on the cooling fan. I ended up finding which one turns on the air suspension compressor, but not the cooling fan. However I got in my car to try and go to the store after putting it all back together and electrical taping all the splices and now my car feels as if the tranny is shot!!! In drive or first gear it slips REALLY bad and reverse feels fine. It also will roll backward down a very slight grade even when in gear which it never did before. I dont know if this is replated or if my tranny was just on its way out anyways, but I could really use some HELP figuring out what to do next. I already have a towtruck on the way to pick the car up and take her to the dealer for a diagnose, but I really dont wanna spend dealer repair $$$$

If anyone has any ideas please HELP

The instructions in my post were specific for 92/93....I THINK I said that in the post, but you need to be careful when you look at your car and it'* different. Attempting what you did without the correct schematic is dangrous. I'm not sure what you could have done, but I hope you don't have a major wiring problem now. Keep us posted.

Im the ignorent one, I just though I could find it....Anywayz the dealer called and told me the bad newz tranny is shot $2500 for a new oe with a warranty installed OUCH!! It was not related just happened to happen right after trying this, otherwise no wiring or PCM problems so I guess I am lucky I really didnt screw anything else up. However Im not sure where my car is suppsed to have been shifting this whole time being that my tranny has likely been on the way out this whole time. Wow a 15.4 with a tranny going out...hmm watch out willwren with a new tranny i just might catch you hehehe. I may look into a "bulletproof" tranny so I can keep putting the ponies to the ground.

I just hope I can find one for chaeper than the 1900 for the parts alone at the dealer.

Sorry If I made it seem like trying this mod made the tranny go out....I just got scared.

Perfectly understandable. I wonder about my trans every day. It could be tomorrow, maybe next year. No way of knowing for sure.

Glad you got it back together ok! Now lets get someone with a 94/95 FSM to figure out which wire to ground on which relay, so you can take another stab at that cooling switch.

Keep us posted on the trans. DP sells the ASG 4T60E, and I'd really like to see someone run one.

Give your PCM a hard earned Reset, you may have just pissed it off temporarily, and a full reset might right it.

hmmm 2500 for a new unit installed at the dealer, or 2495 for a performance unit that I have to install....Grrrr I wish I had a bigger garage and more time. Ill probably just have the dealer do it cause it comes with a 36,000 mile warranty. I wonder what the limetations of this tranny are?! If this is going to keep happenin every 2-3 years then I dont know if I want to get the factory unit. However if the facory unit hold up to another 115k miles then I should be fine. However I dont know what the likelyhood of it lasting that long is with my car in its current state of tune. Keep in mind I do drive aggressivly, and have plans to take her to the strip more often. However upon second thought the 96 SER2 L67 uses the same tranny with more hp and tq stock, and im probably not putting out much more than a mildly modded SER2 L67.
