Cool Loss of cruise control, acceleration and failed gas guage indication

I was driving into work this morning@ 70 mph on cruise control. Car came off cruise control for no apparent reason. I also noticed fuel guage indication failing low and sudden decrease in acceleration. Attempted to resume cruise control operation it would not maintain in this mode. Stopped at gas station to fuel up noticed check engine light. Got to work noticed engine idle speed increasing to ~ 2500 rpm when transmission placed in park. Any troubleshooting suggestions?

Does it seem like the transmission is slipping? If so check the fuse on the panel under the glove box. Don't remember the fuse number but 43 comes to mind. I believe it'* labled Misc engine/cruise control.
