My transmission died....i think
I havent driving my car in 3 days.
Now today, i started my car. i warmed it up for 20 mins. then i wanted to drive to the store. well, the car felt like my car the back brakes were grabbing as i drove forward.
i then put the car in reverse and i had more power in reverse than in drive.
so my question is, if this is a failing trans, should i
1. get this trans rebuilt?
2. go to junkyard and find one
3. buy a rebuilt one or
4. i was wondering if a 93 4T60-E trans would work on my car?

If you replace the transaxle, you need to use a 4t60e HD, due to the power output of your SSEi. Check and make sure your transmission fluid is in good condition, old or burnt transmission fluid can cause all kind of slippage and power loss problems inside the transmission. If the fluid isn't pink or bright red, try replacing it first, then if you still have a problem, it would be time to consider a rebuild or replacement.

Are you sure your traction control wasn't engaging?

it smell great. sweet tranny fluid and its still pink looking, especially when u wipe it off on a towel. i dont even remember if the gears ever changed but its very low power in drive. i did leave anotehr post prior to this a few weeks back stating that i never changed the trans fluid and what should i do....let me find that link....

When you say no power, do you mean the engine would rev up, but the car would hardly move, or you would hit the gas, and the engine would hardly rev up?

i mean once i warm the car up, i put the car in drive, i press on the gas pedal as i normally do and the car wouldnt have any "GO" power like the brakes are grabbing it. can hear the supercharger very well and the boost thrust to 0 when i am doing at least 20 mph. thats not normal at all and i could have passed at least 3 cars already.
