Do the 92/93 use Dexcool or the old style coolant. I thought that Dexcool was started in 1995 but Im not sure. You said you refilled the radiator after changing the T-stat. Did you fill with Dexcool or the other stuff. If you did, did you flush the system out ? Aparently you shouldnt mix them as it can clog up your cooling system.
Just a thought.

The '92 and '93 didn't use dexcool, and yes, the radiator was flushed before filling.
Again, though, the point is that both cars behave the same way, and both were serviced by different people and with different parts, so there must be another common factor.

I was reading your post again, and you said that the AC was off.
I have found on both my cars that they tend to overheat easier if the AC is off. The fans are always on when the AC is on. But if the AC is off, then the fans are "SUPPOSED" to come on at a certain temp.
I have found that my cars both can get hot if the AC is off and you are working it hard, especially at slow speeds or under heavy load (like going up a mountain with the car loaded up). It isnt until I hit about 45Mph that I start to get some cooling effect without the fans running.
Hope that helps
