Default gasket questions

I think either my head gasket and/or the gasket on the base of the fuel line/intake manifold needs replacing....do these parts need to be torqued when putting them back on?

also what is the large silver pan at the bottom right of the engine?...i think that gasket needs replaced too but i'm unsure of what it is......sorry...still learning the 3800

You mean the Oil Pan (towards the front of the engine) or the Tranny Pan (towards the back)... ???

if your looking at the engine from the front of the car its towards the bottom on the right...its pretty large...opposite side from the serpentine belt..i was thinking it may be the tranny pan...

Silver pan is tranny. Probably time for a filter and fluid change anyway.

Yes, the intake bolts do need to be torqued properly when installing new gaskets. The torque specs are in techinfo.
