Default Inflator kit?

OK, just bought myself a 96 SSE--in the trunk, it has the Inflator On/Off switch, and when you turn it on, you can hear it running, but I can't find the hose and assorted accessories--did they hide the thing really good, or is mine just missing? Does anyone happen to know the part number for it, or at least exactly what it is I have to ask for at the dealer?

Thanks,
Jim

The hose, along with items such as road flares and a first aid kit, should be in a black bag inside the trunk. Unfortunately, people often keep this car kit when they sell the car. I'd try contacting a salvage yard to see if they have any kits from totaled vehicles.

My 95 SSEi has the inflator but my car was also missing the kit. I was able to buy just the hose w/ tips for somewhere around $40 from the dealer. I wanted the whole kit but that was around $120, more than I was willing to pay for a first aid kit. I just told the dealer that I was looking for the air hose for my trunk mounted inflator and he knew exactly what I was talking about. This kit is fairly common in a few other model lines of Pontiac. It will probably be pretty hard to find one at a salvage yard but that would be the cheapest way to go, if you can find one.

For my 93 SSE they have 2 kits, one is called a partial kit retail is
$97.13 it includes air hose, gauge, and adapters for filling different items (balls, tires, etc.). The second is the complete kit, it contains: Unknown, no description given. It retails for $369.00.
These prices where from my local dealer. You can get the partial kit from http://www.gmotors.com/ they sell new parts for 15% over cost. Hope this helps. By the way it would help if you had the part number, they had no idea what I was talking about till I gave them the part number. The part number for the partial kit is: 08821/10433824 (Tool Kit)is the description.

Default inflator any good?

Hi guys,

Is that inflator kit any good ? will it pump the tires in the car? Becasuse i got a separate hose with an atachment to hook up to the compressor in the trunk and it doesnt seem to be any good at least not the hose. The compressor makes air but doesnt seem like its enough to pump tires. Is there any thing special about the inflator kit from GM

I have used mine a few times to refill and top off my tires. It can get the pressure high enough to fill the tires but it takes it forever, about 8 - 10 minutes for the whole tire (mine have a larger volume than normal though being 10 1/2" wide).

I had to buy the hose from the dealer since my car didn't come with one, I got my car used. The hose I got is developing a small leak at the base but it still works.

does the partial kit (pn 10433824) include the actual bag?

If so, is there a part number for just the hose, gauge and adapters?

Is there a part number for just the black bag by itself?

What is the part number for the complete kit?

Thanks,

Here'* what I did. I got the kit from home depot with the yellow hose. I then had to go to Dick'* to get the mini ball pump because it has the braided hose in it to connect frm the inflator to the yellow hose. I use a heavy coat of teflon tape around all the connections to spare the pressure.
