Has the mechanic removed the belt and tried to turn the engine without all of the accessories, its possible to have a frozen alternator, Compressor, Water pump... These can all stop an engine if they lock up...

Also if you change you oil and its usually pretty clean, Check your oil again, Take a close look at it, If its honey colored to brown/dark brown( Take a white cloth with you to determine this)... If it has a Graphite or metal looking color aginst the white cloth than that would be a sure sign of bottom end trouble...

But I do agree that you need to get a second opinion...
No, I don't think he removed the belt. I will check the oil. I just change it half month ago, I hope it be OK.

Thank you

Im not sure if the 3800 has a metal shime between engine and bell housing, but my buddies car wouldnt turn over and it actually ended up being locked up because the shim got ripped up and locked the the flywheel. I honestly dont see the transmission being the problem, but if the starter can not turn the engine over there is definately something wrong, Im goingto say the engine.

a second opinion is in order here, i have been to many many mechanics with several problems and in no offense to mechanics but there has been a plenty try to sell me stuff i didnt need.

the transmission i dont think is your problem, could be a bent flywheel mine wouldn't turn over when my flywheel got bent, i replaced and have had no more problems.

my new flywheel cost me $40 from autozone.

Did you have same problem that the start can not work like mine?

Do I need any special tools to replace the flywheel? Can I replace it myself? Thanks.

How did you deal with your car? Did you replace the flywheel?
