Default air coming into vehicle WHILE IN MOTION.

I can feel air coming in to the car through a vent thats above the hump ( between driver and passenger side ) BEHIND where the stereo is located. THe vent is about 2 X @ inches, and the faster i go the more air come in.

If i am stopped the air does not come in.

The a/c being on or off, or in any configuration has NO effect on this.

Any ideas?

Well from my experience this is a normal occurrence, its normal for a little air to come in just so you have some fresh air in the car.

yeah, its just normal air pressure building up in front of the windshield and pushed to the path of least resistance. one of those is the vent intake.

seems odd it would vent inside like that.. temperatures outside are MUCH hotter than inside and it sems to prevent the car from cooling nicely inside. Also i keep smelling the diesel / hot tar / lawn cutting / going on around me..

That will happen in any vehicle, as they all pull air in from the outside for the HVAC system, and NO vehicle is 100 percent sealed from the exterior.

"statusplease",
I found a couple pix regarding the outside/inside air mix. BTW, one of the pix below shows a min. of 20% outside to 80% inside. It is controlled by a vacuum actuator that HAS to be working for you to get inside air.
So, if your ONLY HVAC problem is this, look up under the dash on the passenger'* side, look for an ORANGE vacuum line that goes to the Outside (OS) Air actuator. If it has been knocked off, this may cause your problem. Before you do that, though, read all the way to the bottom.

Here is that portion of the system below (circled)

A more common thing to happen is for a loss of source vacuum to the HVAC system. But another symptom of that is your AC blows out of the defrosters instead of dash. In this case, look for a vacuum line knocked off under the hood at/near the vacuum tank on center firewall, closer to driver side.
