Default Two issues: 1. High beam switch and 2. burning smell

I tried my high beams for the first time in a long time and clicked the lever, but they didn't stay on. Is there an easy fix for that?

When my car idles, the cabin fills with a burning smell. It'* not all the time though. Could it be the tensioner pulley is letting the belt slip? There isn't any squealing noise.. I think it is more noticable when it'* damp outside.

General Chat
Chat about all things Bonneville (and related cars). Off-topic stuff should be in the lounge, and all mechanical problems should be posted in the proper forum.

I'm not sure if this will help you, but my car recently had a sort of "burning spell" going on. I think it smelled like burning plastic. However, the problem went from minor to severe in a matter of days (it also ended up making LOTS of noise), so it may not be what you have.

We tracked it down to being the clutch plate/pulley on the A/C compressor. I ended up having to get a new compressor.

Sorry if that'* not very clear, I'm not a huge car guy.
