What are the descriptions of those parts? Which windows?

the 6116h and 7116h are burco'* mirror replacements with heating element on the back. They sell to distributors for about $35 per side.

the 3801 is also made by burco, it is a adhesive backed heating element that is small enough for a 93 bonne'* mirrors, they sell to distributors for about $10.50 each.

Im just having a tough time finding them for retail. I have contacted a few glass shops here in fargo, and i should be getting some quotes on monday, but im guessing they will really gouge the price on me.

I would prefer to buy the premade mirrors with the heating element on it, but everything will depend on price. The risk of the premounted ones will be that the prongs could be in a bad position to be placed in my mirror assembly.

Main thing to note here, I _do not_ have heated mirrors, ill be modding this up myself.

Any info, or if you know of another adhesive backed heating element that can be found for 10-15$ would be great!

All heated replacement glass:

1992 right
1992 left
93-99 right
93-99 Left
I didn't know until I looked this up that the replacement glass for 1992 is different than 93-99. The mirror housing assembly is identical, so this would probably mean the heating element is different. Assume newer is improved (and since one of the 92 glass parts isn't available any more) so go with the 93-99 numbers if you choose to go this way.

These are genuine GM replacement parts from www.gmpartsdirect.com and are typically 40% cheaper than dealer retail, as you can see from the prices. We've had a couple members talk about this mod, but none have done it yet that I'm aware of. Keep us posted on progress. I'd love to see you write the procedure for our Techinfo section. These mirrors are PROBABLY also the blue glare-tinted glass. It'* an optical anti-glare coating that came stock on the SSE/SSEi. Not positive, but probably.

My worry here is that the replacement parts may be for a different housing since my 93 did not come with the heating element. Then there may be a range of motion issue depending on how the element mounts in the housing. With just the element i would be able to mount it for best range of motion.
ppgauto does distributor sales only, so these would deffinately not be retail prices.
The price on the mirrors is relatively the same as gmpartsdirect, but if we could figure out this mod with just a $10 element that would be perfect.

Do you have the info on the wiriing of the mirror heating elements? If not i will do trial and error, but any info is better than none.

I don't have factory service manuals for that schematic. We're gonna need someone that does. Fuddyduddy or acg_ssei.

can you give me the part num'* for the nonheated glass?
I found the elements. Got a great price on em, picking them up today. But in case i cannot get mine off safely i want to see what they would cost to get new actual replacements.

then i can see if i want to get the ones that come with element on them, or ones and buy my own element.

Nevermind on those part numbers. You guys are going to love this!

$7.00 per heating element
$8.00 per mirror.
add $5.00 for solder, wire and mirror glue

and you have heated mirrors for $35.00!

i will document everything as i go, now if we can just find out some info on the wiring setup so i dont have to do a bunch of testing, that would make things even easier.
