The fuel pump, among other things is a compleate wild card on any vehicle almost.
It might make it to 300K, it could fail tomorrow morning, mine went at 68,000 miles, and was done by the previous owner.
Hard call, Regular Fuel pressure checks are your best defense to catch a failing Fuel pump..make sure you do the FPR trick by removing the vacuum line on the FPR itself, and make sure the pressure actually climbs up, a significant ammount
