i was on my way to take my son home and i punched the gas and then i lost all power, theres loud hammering noise.. doesnt want to keep running, oil pressure dropped greatly so i put lucas in it to try and thicken it up but still not running right... could this be coils, or rods or anythign other? thanks

sounds like you just lost the bottom end of the engine... not good.

thicker oil is not going to fix the problem, a new engine will. :(

but the weird thign a bout it is there is no hammering noise on an idol, it runs smooth at an idol?

what if you rev it at idle?

I assume you have checked fuel and spark?

we got spark but could it be the fuel injectors?

probably not....check fuel pressure and report back.

i do not have a pressure gauge to check fuel pressure ..is it possble that a crank sensor or cam sensor could have gone bad? or could the coils have broke down under load

i just came back from buying a 97 bonnie se silver with camel interior traction control works also has touring ride and performance ride all working has new gm x heads and valves the interior is really clean the body is good with mabye 3 hrs of cancer work to make it really clean. 700.00 i m getting mine towed back to town 2moro and picking up the silver one aswell i will post some pic.can someone tell me which year engine and tranny will fit my red 97 bonnie thanks gerry
