Default Is this the dreaded wheel bearing problem?

I have a droning noise from the front end that starts at about 50kph and is worst at about 90kph. It feels as if you have snow tires on the front, and I can not identify it as coming from the left or right. I have checked the tires for any irregularities and they look fine. Rotors, pads and calipers are in good shape and I replaced the left bearing assembly because it seemed a little loose. If I could hear the noise coming from the right side, I would replace that bearing, but it seems to come from the middle and is definatly related to road speed. Should I just replace the other bearing?

Silver.. haven't seen you around for a while.. glad you still got your beauty...

It sounds like a bearing problem to me as this has occured a few months back to Muffin ( Tamara'* ) 95 SE in which the bearing had to be replaced. Since you already troubleshooted your tires brake calipers and so on..

Shake the suspect wheel with your hands, in and out while the car is sitting on the pavement. Does it feel loose?

Thanks for the info guys. I changed the right bearing and the noise is completely gone. Odd thing was that the left bearing felt loose so I replaced it first and the noise was still there. The right one felt tight, but the ABS sensor was rusty inside.

Always good to replace both at the same time for good measure. The other usually goes bad shortly after the other.
