Well I bought a 99 Bonneville yesterday and the only problem I can find is a creak from the left rear suspension. I did a search and did not find much info on it here. The noise is very obvious when you simply get out of the car and your body weight comes off the suspension. I am leaning toward a rear ball joint. Any other thoughts before I put it on a lift at work? If it is I can get the part for $50 and the Firestone I deal with will install it and align the car for only $80 which I feel is a great deal.

Struts can squeak in the cold, so try spraying some lube on the upper strut bearing and the strut itself to help isolate it. Also carefully inspect the rear swaybar endlinks.

Sounds good. I was going to give that all a try as well when I put it up on the lift to look everything over.

If you put it on the lift, you'll nail it. But let us know what you find!

Hey, I was looking at the rear sway bar center links on my SSE yesterday while I had it up in the air for the oi pan gasket swap -how do they come off (center links)? Do you have to slide them on from the end of the swaybar? Looking at mine makes me think I'd benefit from some new ones -they were torn on both sides of the metal. No noises though.

The rubber bushing is split. Just remove the fasteners, open it up, and either replace them or lube them.

I haven't found them, and believe me, I've looked. Both for the center links on the front and rear.

I don't have squeaks I just tried to find the centerlink bushings in poly, and couldn't. I may just go OEM.
