Default Talk to me about these tranny'*

I hear these tranny'* aren't built that great. Is there anyway to preserve them? I see people are adding an extra trans cooler which is something I will do...

I come from the fbody world where are 700r4'* aren't that great in stock form, GM didn't built them with known flaws, so we put shift kits it to reroute the fluid to stop the 2-3 clutch from burning up..is a shift kit in these cars common?

So what exactly can I do that'* relatively cheap to prolong the life of the trans..

Unless you're gonna heavily mod the car, I wouldn't do a thing other than the cooler. The SSE and SSEi came with one stock. You have the 4T65-E. It'* a good tranny, and I don't know of any unusual problems. It'* the latest in a long line of good tranny'*. I'm running the 4T60E HD, and thrash it. Most of us do!
