What is it and....
I've got a coolant leak in my 95 SE and I know where it'* coming from but I'm not sure what it does. It'* a little plastic pipe with a 90 degree bend.... It seem to go between the intake manifold and the mount for the tensioner for the serpentine belt. It seems like some kind of bypass pipe. What is it and how hard is it to replace?

To change the coolant by-pass elbow you have to remove the lower intake manifold, which involves removing the upper first. It'* a precise fit and which requires the lower to be removed. Dealer sells them for $7.60! While in there, it'* a perfect opportunity to replace your lower intake gaskets too!

mine didn't just loose the o-ring, when it was being pulled out, it lost all of the material past the o-ring with it... it was a little brittle.
anyhew, part number is 24503423 - that'* straight from the baggie, so it'* good. don't have a picture on hand of the coolant elbow itself that I pulled out.
but, as stated, it'* a great opportunity to do your lower intake gaskets (12537179) and your upper intake gaskets (89017554).

What about going after the other end? Instead of pulling the intakes can you get it from the pump side?

Mine never broke, but I changed it as PM when I did my lower gaskets and upper intake.
