Default shifter ****

how do you get the stock shifter **** off...i want to put one in from a newer bonneville the more rounded one...liek the 95 96 ones....anyone know how to get the rectangle ones off?

There should be a small horseshoe shaped clip in the font of it. If you look, you should see a slit in the shifter handle and it will be in there. Use a screw diver or a pliers to pull it out. Once out, it should just pull up and off.

You might want to sell the old one if it'* in good shape. The T-handle type can be quite expensive compared to the newer 'cobra head' type.
