If you get me the model # off of both transmissions, I could tell you. It should be something like 5BXW or 5ACD or something along those lines. Its on a metal tag located on the back side of the transmission. You have to get underneath the car and look.

Just an FYI, your Lumina may not have the final drive ratio as the B-ville does. The B-ville, if an SE probably has the 3.06 final drive. If your Lumina is different, Its gonna confuse the PCM in your B-ville.

Use the tag like Mike'* saying. The 4T60'* were going through a lot of changes in those years. Things like cutting the pinion and planetaries in opposite directions from one to the next. It was pretty crazy.

Things pretty much standardized in 98. Til then .. yes it sure can be a pain. You will learn a lot though.

Now we need the same #'* off of your B-ville transmission. Just like Billboost said. The 4T60-E had some different "Pitch cuts". Some are interchangeable and some are not.

6ASW is a 1996 4T60-E transmission. The final drive ratio is 2.84 The rotor has 30 teeth on it, and your sprockets are 35/35.

Again, we kind need the # off of the trans in your B-ville.

ill take a look when i get home its actully nice out today...i have the 3.06 ratio so that wont work anyways...the guy said hes got acouple more trannys laying around ima try to get ahold of him and get the codes off them...is the code ratio specfic so all the 3.06s will have the same and the 2.84s will be the same or does it differ...sry for all the ?*

So, taking a 96 differential will not work on a 95 trans. Regardless of ratio.
