This must be the time of season for lower ends to go out....now that it is nice outside, people are rompin' on the go pedals and such....
I got mine "as-is"....I was lucky to get it home, luckier to give the engine bay a sorely-needed bath...and now my landlord is asking "When are you going to have that fixed?" and "No engine changes are allowed here".
But I refuse to give up!

That clip hit the nail on the head! The sounds were almost identical. Do I stand a better chance of just replacing the entire engine (Reman is about $2,300) or pinpointing the problem and diving into the engine myself? (no experience with this, but I think with a good book; I've got enough aptitude to pick it up.)
