Default Help! Cant shift out from Park!

I only have a few hours left to check this car out so time is wasting. I am borrowing a 96 SSEi I was looking at for purchasing. I parked on the driveway, and its not even that steep, just on a slight decline. And I cant get the damn thing to shift from park. Dad pushed from behind to no avail. ANy ideas?

Muscle the steering wheel back and forth while trying the key. Most likely it just locked in an odd position that bound up the ignition.

See...we are really here for ya.

Hey moron they can't get it out of park, they can turn the key.

Anyways, lol, on to the matter at hand. Try pushing your foot all the way to the floor on the brake, and push the button on the shifter, then fairly rough, hit it a lil bit going up towards park. See if you can get it to go a lil farther, it just might not be far enough in, and just start trying to rip it into reverse or drive whatever, and see if that'll work.

Otherwise, you may have to get it towed out or something....Call the dealer you're testing it from and have them come check it out or get it out of there.

What the HELL is this?

It flew out after I tried poping the trim back in.

ANd it aint a dealer, its a private seller. I need to get this sucker checked out and time is wasting. What luck...

Look on the front side of the bottom of the centr console, under the dsah area, it'* a rod that holds tension on to the console bottom to keep the sides pulled in.

SHES FREEE!!!!!

Is this a kind of thing that can be fixed? Because I can imagine in the future that ether myself or anyone else driving this car will forget to make sure the nose is pointing down while parked on an incline. I even have pics, its not steep at all. WHat if I park in a place that it doesnt like? YOu cant even tell if you are on an incline like in the spot of the driveway I parked on. Then im in trouble.

Pics will come later after I have it checked out by the dealer. So ta ta for now...
