200ish sounds about normal.

A 180 will be fine, and that'* still a safe operating temp.

Please keep in mind that the gauges do have a certain amount of error built into them. It might be 195 when it reads 202.

As Sol says..it does sound normal.

keep in mind the gauges will still probably fluctuate(that doesn't look right) a bit even with a cooler thermostat. as said, it won't hurt though.

I have a 180 in my car, and still manage to hit 200* at times when I'm on the freeway on a warm day in heavy traffic and such....I think I've hit as high as 210*.
