Default Air Noise

I have a lot of air noise in my car lately. I like to contribute it to people slamming the doors and cracking the rubber. Regardless, the rubber is cracked and I am assuming this is where a lot of the noise is coming from. Is there anyway to "fill" the rubber, or to somehow seal it to stop the air from getting in?
Anyone else have this problem, and fix it? if so, how?

Are you talking about the plastic trim that runs around the top of the door openings on both sides, or the rubber weatherstripping itself?

Both. The weatherstripping is the worse, though.

Try some silicone spray lubricant on the weatherstripping. It comes in an aerosol can - just spray it one. If that doesn't help much, new weatherstrip runs about US$40 per door.

Good call on the silicone. That'll help keep your doors from sticking/freezing shut in the winter, too. Yes, we have that problem way down here below you. Changing the weatherstripping on the doors is a fairly easy task, too. You might want to get the part numbers for the leaky door strips from Deathrat, and run 'em through www.gmpartsdirect.com , from my limited experience, they're the cheapest source for genuine GM parts. No overhead, no markup. If you read my last post about my ABS, you know what I mean!

Send me your info again & I'll send a list of GM P/N'* for the door weatherstrips. In the mean time, you've got two choices: 1.) attach single sided weatherstrip to the door side. *OR* 2.) "Adjust" the door inwards by using a 2X4 in the opening & closing the door on it in different places, while bending the door itself inwards to where you want more pressure. This "OLD" trick I found out from a body man!

Or you can substitue Drifter'* head for the 2x4. It'* a little denser, and won't dent as easily.
