Posts like a Ricer Type-R
John, that sounds VERY much like a HB in the early death stages. When you rev the engine and hold it up a bit, does the sound go away?
Didn't someone warn you about that and tell you to replace it regardless? About 3 or 4 months ago?
Say Hi to Mom for me, and tell her I'll bring some good gourmet coffee next time to replace the 44 pounds I devoured while Dad was hospitalized.
That is most definitely an external noise. Not internal to the engine.
