I am new to this website and to the forums. I just bought a 1992 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi over the weekend. I must say, I really do enjoy the car, however, I noticed the "check gauges" light come on yesterday. I checked the gas, oil and both are fine. Any ideas what it could be. Yes, I am a woman, and I am clueless when it comes to cars. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Check gauges will come one when the computer believes it see'* something that you should be able to see via the gauges.

When this happens, please note the oil pressure and temperature. Tell us what they say when the light comes on.

Welcome to the site. I would say go to a local autozone or other auto parts shop and have them read the code. Once you have that come back here and post it up. then we will have a much better chance at helping you.

Check "Gages" (as GM likes to spell it) not Engine little less than normal.

With Check gauges could be anything you can see on the cluster. Gas, oil, temperature, voltage, or boost for an SSEi (idk about that one though)
