i posted 2 messages in the past couple days, and they seem to be the only messages posted with no replies? are they just deemed too stupid to answer or what? i see other newbies get replies...did i do something wrong??? i was hoping to get some good advice from all the experienced folks out here..

I think everyone just likes a big challange, (stupid problems like mine) In response to your posts though,
1st- OS2 most likely is bad, dont know of anything you can do besides check the connector and wires themselves. If they're good (wires/conn), replace it. Most everyone here likes the AC Delco because they've had better luck with them. Check through a few pages on the forum and you'll see what I mean.
2nd- Fuel pump replacement isnt too bad as long as you dont have too much fuel in the tank. If so, it can be a PITA. Check back a few pages on this one as well and you'll see mention of different suppliers for GM PARTS or good aftermarkets and make your choise from there. I have checked out WWW.GMPARTSDIRECT.COM a few times which I've seen on here as well. I've never had a problem with pumps from Autozone, but I mostly buy the cars and sell them after a bit. No-one has come back complaining, you'll have to be the judge of that one. Good Luck!

I don't have a 96-99 service manual, but I would guess that the heater on your oxygen sensor has failed. Probably need a new one.

We get hundreds of new posts per day. With the complicated problems, most people will stay out of it and wait for a gearhead. If a gearhead misses your post, just repost it or bump it.

Speaking for myself only, I'll respond if I have anything useful to contribute, but to tell the truth, I don't even look at meaningless Subject lines like "HELP!" or "Need help with car" or "What does this mean?" and that kind of thing unless I've covered everything else first. i.e. If I can't tell what the topic of the posting is from the Subject line, I'm not going to open it to see; I don't have that much free time.

There are so many people in this forum that not everyone is going to get answered, and sometimes people just plain don't know the answer to your question. The best you can do is

1) Frame a coherent Subject line that will summarize what you need to have answered and

2) Write a clear description of what the situation is.

You don't have to be brief or terse; if you need to go into a lot of detail, feel free, but please be clear so we can understand the issue(*), or else we'll waste time having to get followup questions answered from you before we can make any meaningful suggestions. Since a lot of us participate here only on lunchbreaks or after work, that can mean wasting an entire day spent having to ask you followup questions and waiting around for the answer to arrive, so more detail is probably better than less when posting a problem in the first place.

And finally, please don't lard up your posting with humongous images that have nothing to do with the Subject. Those of us on dialup lines have to download all that stuff every single time, and it doesn't happen fast. Stick to text or relevant images only, and we can all get in, get out, get done and get back to driving.

I'm glad this was posted, actually. We don't want anyone to feel they're being ignored, but you have to keep in mind the volume of members and posts we see every day.

Sometimes it seems like no one'* looking at my posts, but then i realize they're all jealous anyways...

I try to post if i have an idea that wasn't brought up, or side question(*) etc that may be pertenant to the subject.

I, too, stay out of the gearhead stuff if I don't have a decent answer. Don't feel ignored. dude. Check the views counter on your posts, and if it starts to sink too low, bump it (post a reply to you own post)
