Vacuum Lines & Rough Start-Up
I have a question about my 1997 Pontiac Bonneville SE. This vehicle has 248,000 miles. Runs great but for the past two months it has been starting up rough. I figured it might have been the upper intake since that thing cracked on me two weeks ago and I had to have it replaced. But it is still occasionally starting up rough. Here are a list of things replaced on this car so far in the last two years that I've owned it, I think it might be the vacuum lines comming from the throttle body, they are in poor shape.
Basic Maintains of course applys to all of this
Alternator 187,000 miles
Battery twice 147,000 miles - 190,000 miles
Radiator 240,000 miles
Fuel Pump 187,000 miles
***Componants Changes @ 247,000 miles when Upper Intake finally went out in Seguin, TX. ***
Gas Cap, Upper Intake, Lower intake Gaskets, Thermostat, Coolant, Radiator Hoses, Fuel Filter, Spark Plugs, Spark Plug Wires, Oil Pan Gasket, Air Filter, Pressure Sensor on Upper intake manifold, Lower Intake Manifold plastic elbow, Coolant Temperature Sensor.
So far this car has been doing this for a while, I know that one of my vacuum lines is badly decaying. The other night I took my family out for dinner and I didn't start the car long enough and it pushed all the vacuum lines off of the throttle body. When I proceeded to start the car again and it didn't start I thought "Great the intake must have went again" But it was fine, and there was no oil in the coolant, ect. I took that plastic cover off the top of the engine to discover that the vacuum lines had been pushed off of the throttle body, I put them back on noticing that they were in bad shape. Could this been why my vehicle occasionally starts up rough? , and how much am I looking at for replacing the vacuum line assembly?

Vacuum lines can cause the issues you are describing. Vacuum line can be found inexpenseively at your local parts stores. Then you cut to the liength you need.
Only exceptions on this are elbows and odd shaped pieces.
While you are looking at the top of the motor, also check under the air box, the lines that go to the charcoal canister usually are rotted through.
