L27 Harmonic Balancer Install trix
Ol' Bonnie blue is clanking something awful at idle...rev her up to about 1200 RPMs and she sounds and runs fine...since I already replaced the H20 pump, it smells like a pending HB replacement to me.
I've got a mechanic that has the tools to remove and replace the HB for $50...sounds like a deal to me...but he says that all you do is bolt it on and torque the BIG nut to 110# and you are through!!!
GAWD I hope he is right...
But I'll bet someone here is going to say:
"On a 92 Bonneville L27 the HB needs to be prepped, sized, gapped and installed just perfect or it won't ever start again"
Is anyone willing to share the 92 L27 Harmonic Balancer installation "SECRETS" with me...PLEASE??

The bolts are a goofy small size to use with the puller, the sensor to my recollection does need to be spaced properly on that year ... $50 is the way I'd go in your shoes.
