Default valve cover leak

I've got some leaking coming from my valve covers. I was wondering how difficult is this job? I would like to do it myself but I haven't been able to find much info on the site. Anyone know of a good thread or link it would be greatly appreciated.

It should be pretty straight forward. Undo the 4-6 bolts holding them on, clean the covers and head where the gaskets sit very well, reinstall to torque spec...probably in techinfo. Back will be a little more fun but not impossible.

Thanks Bill, sounds pretty straight forward, the back was what I was concerned about. Looks like I will have to undo some things to get to it, hopefully nothing major. By the way could this be the possible source of my P0106 code. I 've had it for awhile but car runs fine.

Looks like the Alternator and a couple of brackets have to be moved...
Don, you are right. I did them on my 99 last year. It wasn't too tough to get them taken care of. The alternator does have to come off, along with the support bracket from the LIM. Also, I removed the horizontal strut tower brace for ease of access. It doesn't take more than an hour to do the rear cover.

Ok sounds like a saturday project. Will I need to use any sealant and about how much are those gaskets? Are there any other things I should check or do while I got things apart? Thanks for the help guys.

Don't use any sealant. Make sure everything is very CLEAN and bone dry! I bought Felpros and they were under $20 for the front and back gasket set. There'* really nothing else to check when you have stuff apart.
