Knocking coming from front end of 92 SSE
I have had a knocking in my front end that I can feel at highway speeds. The noise gets louder and faster the quicker the car is going. I dont know if this is related but sometimes i feel a pop or knocking when I make a hard slow turn, like out of a driveway. I know the bearings are fine and the noise was still around when i had my one bearing replaced. I had a mechanic look at it after I had the bearing replaced to make sure he put it in ok and he said he heard the noise but saw nothing and I would be safe and things are ok. The only thing he could think it might be is the driveshaft which I do not agree. I think it may be something in the steering colum itself or the tie rods or cv joints. What do you all think? thanks

I would also think CV from your description, butttttt if you don't think it is then look deeper.
Raise the front of the car and grab the wheel with your hands at 12 and 6 on a clock, wiggle if you have no play there move your hands to 9 and 3, wiggle.
12-6 play is tyipcially ball joint
9-3 is usually tie rod/steering related
Usually these will feel like play or vibration and not a steady clicking noise.
Hard slow turn in a parking lot click click click click click click is usually a CV joint and a CV can show itself also running down the highway.

Thanks for all your help guys. Im gonna check out and have others check this out. But the clincher is that this bonnie is on her way out :( and I just wanted to know some ball park figures on remanufactured axels and the like. If it is not worth it I may just have to let her go.
