Read a post that spraying carb cleaner down your intake is bad
My friend and I just replaced the upper intake manifold and gasket on my 97, when we had it off he sprayed carb cleaner all over the lower manifold and inside the throttle body...
my car does appear to be running OK, although a little rougher maybe...
What should I do now that it happened?

Possible damage to the Maf sensor if what Don said isn't true (on the can). Carb cleaner may be bad for that plastic upper intake, too. You'll just have to keep an eye on it for awhile.

The chemical Xylene is found in some carb/TB cleaner as well as paint thinners....this is a chemical that causes some plastics to dry out and crack. I would ckeck the can to see what the active ingredients were. I bought a "sensor safe" TB cleaner from Pep Boys and i showed my dad the can, he stopped me before i used it pointing out the xylene. Beware i guess :?
