no downshift to pass
ok we've all been bookin along 60 65 come up on that slo a.. and what do we do hit the break peek out for oncoming traffic nail it and continue on with our business. well my 94 ssei decided that yesterday it wasnt going to downshift i pusshed the peddle to the floor and got nothing. i had to slowdown to under 30 mph to get any kind of response from it. now any time i hit the break and try to reaccelerate it makes a funny noise (wich i think is the abs pump) lurches a little bit (like my foot is on the break) and then does squat. i know the converter is locking and unlockin and once im up to cruising speed its fine not even that usual h body shutter. also i now notice that my cruise isn't working but that could be unrelated (don't use it that often.

downshift
Downshifting is controlled by the throttle position sensor voltage.
I would start there and see if its reading correctly. Idle and WOT (engine off key on).
