Default Need Help Please???

I just got my 97 SSEi running with is new motor(an 01L67 w/25k). These are my mods:3.4pulley, 180 tstat, cold air intake, 605 plugs(1 cooler). It has new plugs twice now, and new wires. The problem is is runs like crap. I originally had oil in the combustion chamber from the engine being upside down on the stand to install a pan gasket(lesson learned there). I then flushed it out with Sea Foam and let it run for 1/2 hour. Next I changed the plugs again, and let it run some more. The engine idles rough and when reved gives an occasional backfire thru the exhaust. The 01 motor went in complete with the 01 SC, 01 fuel lines and injectors. I still am using my stock coils T-body and PCM, as well as alt. I am told that the fuel injectors are the same. I have a blinking check engine light, but currently do not have a code reader. This started when I first started with the oil problem and excessive smoke. Any help would be great. Thanks

I would defintally get the car scanned, with the way its missing like that, makes me wonder if the MAF sensor isn't toast. Especially if oil seeped up the intake into the air tube and soaked the sensor itself..
Have it scanned first.

I didn't have the TB on the block at the time it was upside down on the stand but thanks for the idea. I plan on getting it scanned this week and going from there but if I clear it and it doesn't come back then what???

the SES will tell where to go. Since the PCM sees something wrong it is setting the code, im guessing that when you fix what ever the code is telling you, the car will run smooth

My best GUESS would be oil fouling of the O2 sensor. But you need to scan, or you'll end up chasing your tail.

Default We have a winner!!!!!

THE BONNE'* BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And the winner is......................Wilwren Wins again!!!!! O2 sensor it was, fouled and carboned all upl! Thanks for the help!

The next question is: now I have a 180 tstat, but of course I don't have a reprogram yet, The car is running hot around, 210-220. I filled the new engine with 2 gallons of dexcool and 3 qts water. The bottle said 70% dexcool for the best freeze/boilover coverage. I tried to open the bleader on the water neck after tha car had warmed up, but I got straight fluid immediatly and no air or bubbles. Is there a better way to burp out the air? Do you always get a air pocket??
