Whats burning up my coil packs???
I was having severe shuttering problems while accelerating and my idle was really rough, so I thought replacing my coil packs would fix it and it did! For like 100 miles my car ran like it was brand new, but now something is slowly burning up these coil packs as well. What gives? Im thinking its the oxygen senser, but i'll be gotdamned if I change something else without being at least 99% sure of what the problem really is.
Thanx in advance. This is my first bonny and I have only owned it like 2 months.

Yes, the ICM is located under the coils. Since you have a '92, do you have the Magnavox [one large coil pack], or the Delco [three individual coils] Ignition? And did you purchase new or used?

The Delco is better, but the '92 could of had either [earlier ones had Magnavox, later ones had Delco]. It could be just that the coil pack you replaced it with was faulty. Try putting your old ICM on the new coils, and new ICM on old coils. Switch some stuff around. If that doesn't work, time to find more parts.

Supercharged!! You might want to add SC to your signature for supercharged. This way people don't think you are an naturally aspirated.
Did the coil pack crack, over heat, melt...you mention something is burning them up. One of the first things you should probably check is the postive and negative battery cables..check all connections by disassembling them, cleaning and putting back together. There should be connections at the fuse area under the hood, battery and starter, alternator.
That should get you started on one of the usual items, more people should be chiming in soon as well with more experience.
