1998 SSEi brake drum help
I'm in the (should be quick) process of changing a bad wheel bearing on the passenger rear of my '98 Bonneville. The brake drum is stuck on, however. I was going to pop off the rubber grommet on the rear cover plate and adjust the star wheel back so I could remove to drum, but this car doesn't seem to have that grommet anywhere! Is there something I'm missing? I've never seen this on another car. Any other tips to get the drum off?

No, don't pry it. You will only warp the drum. If its really stuck to the hub face, smack the outer part of the drum directly above the hub face.

If the drum is actually free from the hub, but brake shoes are stuck in the groove on the drum, what then? Just yank until something gives?

Sometimes if you rotate the wheel back and forth while pulling will sometimes break off the ridge that'* preventing it from pulling over the shoes.

Are they still teaching that putting car batteries on the ground is bad?

I have pounded rear drums to kingdom come, especially on Blazers which I think are the worst, and I have never warped them......sometimes you just have to get physical, physical, I wanna get physical, let'* get into physical
