Default idle sensor?

Do the 1993 L27s have any kind of idle sensor on them? Yesterday, my car wouldn't start. All guages were correct, except it was barely turning 200 RPMs. I checked all electrical connections, fuses, and made sure there was gas, but couldn't find anything. My dad came outside, turned the key, mashed the gas and it fired right up. BUT, the only way it would stay running, was if you kept your foot on the gas. It absolutely would not idle. He said it was probably some kind of idle sensor or something. Well, today, I went out the the car and started it, not thinking about yesterday. It started normally, and as I was driving across the yard, I rememberd my problem. My car was started and cut off 4 times today, and all 4 times it started like a charm, no problem. What gives?

No sensor. But there is an IAC. Idle Air Contoller. From your symptoms, it sounds like you have to crack the throttle to do it'* job.

Use the TB/MAF cleaning procedure in Techinfo. You'll need a TB gasket.

I agree with Bill. I even had the answer typed up and saw he already answered when I did the preview.
