Default 1994 ssei dies intermittently

My neice has a 1994 ssei, it stalls out & wont start again for a while and this happens daily. I had the alternator & battery checked, both good, the fuel pressure is also dead on for what my chiltons says it should be. I nearly put in a new fuel pump until I test that out at the fuel rail first. I know many older OBD1 GM'* would let you test trouble codes by jumping the top 2 right terminals on the dignostic port, then counting the check engine light flashes after turning the key but not the engine on. The car has a diagnostic terminal but the top 2 right connections are empty. There are other connections in there scattered around, and the OBD2 scanner wont read codes at all. The check engine light is definetly on. Otherwise it runs & idles fine. Any guesses as to what is causing it or information on how to read the trouble codes on this oddly arranged diagnostic terminal? I hate throwing parts money at it until we eventually fix it or give up on it. Please help!

We need to figure out which OBD system you have. Some 94'* have OBD1 and others have the OBD2 connector.

This is the OBD1 connector...

And this is the OBD2 connector...

If you have the first one, you need to jump pins A and B, turn the igniton on, and count the flashes.

If you have the OBD2 connector, you need a higher end scanner to pull the codes. Let us know what you got.

Ya know, I will check that out later tonight. I know the OBD2 scanner read no codes, but I want to see if that thing is upside down because I have seen that before in other cars.
