Finally stored a code.
I saw the SES light come on and then go off after about 15 seconds when I was coming back from lunch today. So when I left I scaned the code and got #57. My question would be is it the BCS or the BCA, and where can I get one since I just recently gave my extras away to a member to fix his? One more thing is could this cause up to 20 degrees of KR?

KR depends on how it fails.
The PCM can't even see the BCA, so we'll concentrate on the BCS for now. Disconnect the connector and check the resistance across the two pins on the solenoid. Let us know how many ohms.

Double-check just to be sure. It should be about 30 ohms. You may have found your problem. Just to clarify, you checked the resistance with the connector off, and measured the two pins down inside the BCS?

Yes I took the connector off and measured the two pins on the BCS that are a little hard to reach on a hot motor . I did try a couple times to see if I get the same reading. So is this avalible anywhere besides the JY? I would guess this is why my KR comes and goes and does not do this all the time. The only other thing that I can think of to get knock from is the DP flange leak that I will explain in another post. Thanks Will the help is greatly appreciated.

It should be about 20 bucks from the dealer. You MIGHT be able to get it through NAPA as well.
I'd send you one, but I've shipped off 3 good ones for free in the last year, and only have one good unit left as a spare (along with 3 bad) Lucky you.

you mention your getting 20* of KR?...
My car was getting that all the time, it turned out to be a bad PCM, once I swaped it out with a NEW one the KR disapeared. back to only like 1-2* on the shifts with a 2.2 on, on a hot summer day.

Ok I went to Parts Plus, and NAPA, and neither can figure out the part I am looking for. Does anyone have a NAPA or Dealer part number for the BCS? The guy at NAPA said he could maybe cross reference it if I had a part number. The only reason I didn't have the number off of the one on my car is cause my wife has it at work today.
