Default Brakes.

1998 leSabre:

I redid brakes today at 158K miles and the insides of the ears of the calipers had corroded heavily and pushed in on the rubber insulators so I couldn't get the bolts and sliders in correctly. I replaced with rebuilt calipers and they had silicon on the bolts inside the rubber insulators. Should there be something between the rubber insulators and the metal of the ears? I did not take the rubber insulators out to check but I can if I need to redo them.

I had put silicon based rubber lube for brakes on the old set of calipers when I installed them on the inside and outside of the rubber insulators. I went back in at about 20K miles and did it again when I replaced the original rubber insulators with NAPA parts. (the first set of calipers did not come with the rubber insulators.

How do I treat the bleeder screws to prevent corrosion from gluing them in?
