Default 93 SSEi Front Seats Lumbar INop

Hi, Guys,
Another problem I am working on and need help with. The problem is that both front seat lumbar adjustments do not work. All other seat functions properly. I have replaced the seat adjustment switches in the console, the seat control module under the drivers seat and the seat air pump assembly under the passenger seat. The pump operates on the bench. I hear "clicks" when I use the console switches but no pumping action occurs. Help! Is it possible it is a ground problem? Where is the ground connection on this system. Any help is greatly appreciated! I have gotten all the other functions to work but this one and it is me against the mountain now! Thanks in advance!

I have done some "research" into the workshop manuals and have found the following: The ground for the lumbar pump system is "G202" which is located at the "Left Hand Shroud" - Figure Eon page 8A-201-8. Now the question is where exactly is this and how do you get to the ground? It appears to me to be about ankle height at the left hand side of the driver'* side - about where your ankle would be. I have not attempted to remove that panel yet - any tricks to it?
Also, there are three relays: Inflate relay, deflate relay, pressure cut-out switch and relay. However, the book makes no mention of where these relays are located. Are they in the seat lumbar control module? I had assumed this so that is why I replaced it. If anyone knows where these relays are (and how to test them) I would greatly appreciate your help. Thanks.

All the inflation relays should be in the black box under your seat. The panel to the left of your ankle is very easy to remove. No major tricks at all. I doubt you'd find a problem there, but more likely broken between there and the relay/inflator.

Well, I checked the ground and it sure enough was tightly connected. Therefore, it wasn't that anyway. When you say in the "black box under your seat" do you mean under the driver seat or under the passenger seat? There is a black box under each - and I have replaced both, but that is not to say that THEY weren't bad, too, as I used wrecking yard parts. I was afraid the relays might have been in the relay center under the dash on the passenger side. Those are truly hard to get to. Now, I suppose I could jump another ground wire to test if it is the ground, couldn't I? You might have guessed by now that electrics is not my strong suit! Thanks! Sure would like to get this working just to "climb the mountain" if not for anything else.

I'll dig into my FSM'* later today on the off chance that you haven't nailed it down. Have you verified all the hoses are attached and not leaking, or does the compressor simply not work in the car, but on the bench ok?

I have checked the hoses, connections, etc.
The air compressor does not operate in the car, but does operate with test leads connected directly to the battery just fine.
I hear "clicks" from the black box under the driver'* seat when I operate the lumbar adjust switches on the console.

I had car problems that totally absorbed me last night. Hoping to look into this for you tonight (since I'm waiting for parts anyway).
