ELC was standard on EVERY 92+ SSEi and SSE...you could get the ELC on 95-97 SLE'* only

CCR was avaliable from 94-99 on the SSEi and the SSE....you could also get CCR on the 95-97 SLE'*

you cannot have the CCR without ELC but you can have ELC with out CCR

Confused yet

Let'* step back a moment.

What year and model is your car? You might not have CCR, most cars don't.

CCR struts are not readily available, when found they are extremely expensive (thousand a side??)

ELC is a fairly standard replacement and is made on many replacements. Most find their replacements at local parts stores, Carquest, Advance Auto, AutoZone...etc.

Struts with the CCR option have been discontinued; if you find some, expect to pay over $800.00 per strut.

CCR replacement shocks and struts are still available, and it appears as if the price has dropped considerably. Dealer retail on them is only $577 now, with a GMPD price of $288.50 EACH STRUT, plus shipping.

Wow..almost something to be considered if they are better new than standard replacements. However I doubt they perform better.

I replaced my last weekend, Monroe'* Sensa-trac. I think there are execellent specially stability on the road, I still don't know how to disable the CCR on my vehicle. I don't have a lot of money, that'* the reason I initiated to work in my car myself in the first place, and not let mechanics (theifs) do anything to it. I got the books and the tools with the money I saved from going to mechanics, and also made me feel proud about myself beeing able to do what certified people do, that many others can't do for fear (lack of knowedlege) and waist the money, it'* really hard to make money these days.

good luck
