Default I Have No Clue

Went out to eat with the wife Friday night and she was driving. When she left two stop lights in a row the car just hammered and shook. There was a hammering noise and the whole car shook. It kinda sounded like DAA-DAA-DAA-DAA until she let off the gas. From the passenger seat I could not tell where it was coming from but I could feel the whole car shuttering. She told me it has happened occasionally since we bought it with 20K and it now has 165K. I tried to reproduce it with hard and slow starts with no luck. I have been driving this car for the last 5 weeks because it is the easist thing to drive with my broken ankle and it has never done it with me driving.

Any thoughts?

Sounds like a broken engine mount.... guys? I know when my Ciera'* engine mount broke, the whole car felt like it was in a damn 7.2 mag earthquake.

Doesn't seem that a bad mount could not be noticed for about 145K miles.

I'm wondering about sensors etc acting up, or maybe a plug wire arching out.
